Description
Bandpass filters are used for optical band limiting, i.e. for separating an explicit section of the wavelengths of a light beam. These partial frequencies of the light beam should be transmitted in as high a proportion as possible, while the filter is impermeable to the remaining part. With bandpass filters, the bandwidth, the proportion of transmission from the center frequency and the degree of impermeability of the cut-off frequencies are very important. In the end, these largely determine the price. In most cases, dielectric coatings are used on a glass substrate to achieve the optical properties, but sometimes absorbing glass is also used
